SCHEME TO PREVENT DEPORTATIONS
"IRRITATION STRIKES" PROPOSED. Sydney, August 23. The Trades Union Congress's proposed 6cheme to prevent further deportations includes "irritation strikes" among gas, municipal, and manufacturing employees. Other provisions are that shop assistants 6hall notify all customers of the truth about the goods they are selling, showing them defects in material, and telling them the cost price of each article, and that all employees handling food supplies shall give good weight. The proposals have yet to he sabmitted to the various unions for ratification.—Press 'Assn.
