"A BIG BLUFF"
Sir,—Several points have been missed in connection with the proposed workers' homes building scheme by the "Big Four." 1. Very little benefit will accrue with' this proposition when you take into consideration that all housing will be stopped, as the small builder can and is building seven to ei#ht houses a year, and when you multiply that by the number of builders doing (hat class of work you have nearly 500 houses, I am sure. t 2. What small builder who has been ''on his own" will take a job oh as foreman? . 3. Should a small contractor take on-ft contract for eight houses at ,£lOiW oach the "big four" get ,£2OO for doiug nothin?. • - . ; i. What plant is required to build cottages? None. 5. Where are the merchants coming in if all the hardware, roofs, etc., are imported from England? . 6. Last, but not least, where are tho poor devils,, the architects, coming in P In my humble opinion the whole thing is a big "bluff" to stop competition—l am, etc, ARCHITECT.
