BriKadierXJeneral D. J. M'Gavra, C.M.G., D.5.0., Director-General of Medical Services, is at present vißiting the South Island on official business. 'Mr. G. L. Peaeocke has been reappointed a member of Auckland University College Council, as a Government, representative. Mr. Augustus S. Hill, died at Knranjrar hake, Auckland, on Saturday. For many years Mr. Hill had been connected with the Crown and Talisman mines. He was slated to be tho oldest resident at Karangahake. x Mr.- W. J. Walker, 8.A., formerly of the Southbridge District High School, j has been appointed to the headmastorship j of tho Lvttelton District High School, in succession to Mr. R. B. Clarke, who j is now headmaster of the Addington School. Mr.' W. A. Collins was' last night elected chairman of the Wanganui Education Board—Press Assn.
