EARL DERBY WINS CANTERBURY PARK OUP. (Rcc. August 15, 5.5 p.m.) Sydney, August. 15. A Bpccial race meeting was held by the Australian Jockey Club on the Randwlek course in honour of the Prince of Wales's rctu'rn to the city. Forty thousand people attended. The Prince had a great- reception. Re made several bets, but failed to pick a winner. Following is the result of the principal event:— CANTERBURY PARK OUP. Ono mile and three-quarters. Ear], Derby. 6st. 71b 1 Eoartn, 7st, 41b ■. .'. 1 Jennie 7)., 7st. 51b i Won by two lengths. Time, 2min. ZOisec. '-Press Assn. A Press Association cablegram from London, dated August 14, states:—"Eranu Wootton intends to ride over the sticks this winter. _ The newspapers consider that he should prove as successful there as in flat racing. The Donoghuc-Bullock rivalry is of tho keenest. Tho latter rode four winners this week. Donoghuo rodo Beven, and tops the list."
