OLYMPIC GAMES
ENTHUSIASM AT OPENING ' CEREMONY. (Rec. August 15, 5.5 p.m.)' Antwerp, August 14. The formal opening of the Olympic Games at the Stadium was attended with much cbremony. Tho booming of artillery and the shouts of a. huge crowd greeted the arrival of royal personages. All the competitors, led "by tho Australasians, and representing twenty-eight-countries, filed past King Albert, who was presented with addresses. The programme was interspersed with musical items by Swedish and Belgian choirs. The whole proceedings were marked by great enthusiasm. South Africa and America disputed tho Australasians' right to lead tho procession, but eventually conceded their claim.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. - (Rec. August IC, 0.5 a.m.) •_ Antwerp, August 15.
