RAILWAY FREIGHTS
QUESTIONS IN PARLIAMENT.
A suggestion that the commercial and farming interests as the people most concerned in the railway freights should be consulted by-tho Department in the framing of the new schedule of freights, was made by Mr. Malcolm in the House yesterday. He asked the Minister ot Railways to direct the Department to consult with representatives of these interests in the preparation of tho now schedule. ~ , Mr. Massev: I can assure tho honour able gentlenian that no injustice will ho done to any class in foe community in the revision of the schedules of the railways. Wo have to endeavour to treat all classes of tho community fairly and JU Mi\'Malcolm; -Will you consult them? Mr, Massey did not reply. _' The Prime Minister stated, in answer to another question, that he expected the new rates would come into operation on Monday week. The preparation of the new scale was a big task, and tno Railway Department would not be able to complete it by next Monday.
