FORECAST AND SUMMARY AT 1 P.M. YESTERDAY. Present Indications arc for strong northerlics, backing to s&utherlics soon, northward of New Plymouth and Oastlcpoint, and high southerly winds ehcwhere. Cold, unsettled,: cloudy weather and further rain mar be expected generally, heavy rain in many parts, with snow on the high country in the South Island.
