Tho curtailment of supplies of superphosphate from New Zealand's customary source of supply, Australia, has resulted in a very acute shortage of this fertiliser for many months past, and it will bo satisfactory to merchants and f/Mncrs interested to know that substantial supplies of the well-known high grade Japanese superphosphatehave been arranged to como forward from Japan, which should bo almost sufficient to supply New Zealand's requirements for tho forthcoming Bpring season. Tho first Shipment of Japanese superphosphate, consisting of 4000 tons, is duo to arrive in Wellington by tho 5.6. Meikai Maru, duo at the end of next week, and further cargoes are coming forward to other North Island ports and also to South [sland centres.
