The l'etone Ohurch of Christ Endeavour Society paid a visit to Lower Jlntt on Wednesday night. Mr. I'nor prcsiiltu over the meeting. During Hie evening several papers were read. The JLult .Society is to pay a return visit to l'etono shortly. The monthly meeting of the l'etono West School Committee was held this week, uu the motion of the chairman (Air. .lay) it was decided to write to the Education Hoard requesting that repairs he eUceted at the infant school. The headmaster (ilr. jj. S. Bedinjlicld) reported lliat Die numbers on tho roll at the date of last report was 535; admitted during past lour weeks, 23; withdrawn. 6; average attendance, '15'/; present roll, 549. At the animal congregational meeting of the Lower lliitt Presbyterian Church it was decided to increase the minister's stipend from £275 to £350. In connection with ihc citizens' appeal for funds lor the purchase of instruments for the Salvation Army il lias Iweri iieciuea to wind up with ft concert and sale of goods on August 12.
