MARRIAGE LAWS
Sir,—As an onlooker_ on the game of politics and public affairs generally, it is not often that I even venture to barrack, but the onlooker often sees most of the game. I read with much interest your report of TTis Grace Archbishop o'Shea's sermon at St. Joseph's Church, but upon reflection it struck me as peculiar that the Archbishop should havo fitted the cap to his own .head so promptly. The statement made by the Leader of tho Legislative Council was couched in' language so guarded as to convey very littio to the mind of one such as myself, but even the balanced phrase and judicial poising of tho. words left no room for uncertainty in the mind of His Grace., I do not care to enter into any discussion of the subject matter, but I am snre that with myself there are many of your readers who will have been struck by the Archbishop's prompt spring to tho battlements, and we await with interest further information upon what appetts to be on the face of it a very astonishing position of affairs.—l am, etc.. LL.B.
