HATAITAI HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY
The first annual report of the Hataitai Horticultural Society congratulates members on the splendid season wliie'n has crowned tlic first year ot the society's work. It in suggested to the incoming coiuniittce, that in view of many requests a spring show should be arranged for the ensuing year, Bay at the latter end cf September. The society has taken up the .task of improving all the waste ground in the suburb, and have been ably Supported hy the Reserves and Outlying Districts Committee. who have made a. substantial beginning in improving several ugly corners, These are to be supervised, after completion, by the Horticultural Society, and the committee trust that nil residents will help in keeping these plantations in order and check any who may be seen destroying or tampering with the shrubs, etc. The committee has set on foot movement to hold a combined show of all tho horticultural societies around Wellington, and has received the support of the kindred bodies. Tho total number of Financial members for tho past season was 95.
