The inactivity in whcral produce lines is very marked at present. Thew i B no movement irL oats, though occasio'nal offers Have been made at as. 2a.,. South Island, f.0.b., which at present seems as low as merchants aro prepared to go. This figure.has not ied to much business. Potatoes are scarcely quotable ond offers-' of .£3 155., South Island, f o b., have not been accepted. This figure would leavo the grower something in the vicinity of £1 a ton. Clovers are very firm and inquiries continuo from the North Island. There are repotts that a good deal of bush is going down this year, and this is certain to cause a good demand for cocksfoot, dogstail, and ryegrass for autumn, sowing. Onions are practically finished, a 6 far as offers are concerned, and an advance in price has taken place for any good lines available. Good sorts of Spanish Browns would bring from ;£8 to .£8 15s. at country stations 'at present.
