Hennesßy were elected as the watersiders' representatives on tho Labour Bay Sports Committee. ARRIVAL OF 1 THE KARAMEA. . The KaramQa arrived from Avonmouth and Montreal at Auckland on Saturday. Sho left Avonmouth on May 22 and proceeded to Montreal, whero she arrived on June 2.. She loaded a large auantity of merchandise at Montreal, inoluding'paper, iron piping, wire, canned goods, and motor-cam On June .22 she took her departure for Panama, which waß reached on June 31. Next day tho steamer left for Auckland. Durintr the run from the canal to here a Are was discovered in the bunkers, but was extinguished before any damage was done. The vessel alao had a mishap' in the engine-room. Temporary repairs, however, were effected which enabled the steamor to /reach Auckland in fairly good time. Fine weather was experienced on the tripwerofis the Atlantic Ocean until approaching Cape Race, where the steamer ran into a thick fog. An iceberg had been sighted a few dnys previously. After leaving Montreal the Karamea met with line weather until about a week off the Now Zealand coast, when she encountered strong Bouth-west winds and heavy seas for several days, thence fine ■weather until arrival at Auckland. The Union Company's" steamer Navua, which waß to have loft Wellington on Monday night for Lyttelton and Dunedin did not sail owing to her full complement of firemen not being aboard. Efforte were made yesterday to secure men, and the vessel went 'into the stream at 3 p.m., but did not. get away until 7.15 p.m. WESTRALIA ARRIVES. The Huddart-Parker 'steamer Westralia arrived in the stream at 9.15 o'clock last night.' Bhe passed the east of Stephen's Island at 3.15 in the afternoon.
