THE WEATHER
FORECAST AND SUMMARY AT 4 P.M. YESTERDAY. ' Present indications are for southerly and westerly winds, moderate to strong and squally at times, and cold, changeable weather generally, with scattered showers. Barometer rising, but unsteady in the south. Barometric pressure has increased especially in the south and strong north-west to south-west winds have prevailed. Unsettled Bqually weather and rain were experienced generally during Monday night and flooded rivers were reported this morning in the West Coaat districts of the South Island.
