THE CITY OP ' ■ ' WINCHESTER. s Yesterday morning some trouble occurred on the .waterfront as a result of tho watersiders' who ; were engaged to work the Citv of Winchester, berthed at tho King's Wharf, refusing to handle cargo in a certain manner. In*the morning two gangs /were dismissed, but wera siren another opportunity to "turn to." This they, did at ono o'clock, but tor thev refused to handle the cargo in tlio manner ordered, they were dismissed again, and knocked off at 2 o'clock. The City of Winchesler," which is "loading frozen meat and similar cargo, was idle for the remainder of the after, jioon. is understood that the trouble arose tTirough the'use lof a certain typo of "sling.'' ' The assistant-secretary of the Watersiders' Union said that the matter had been referred to the Disputes Committee. and until its report was mado no official statement' could /be issued.
