TAUPIRI AND PUKEMIRO MINES

WORK RESUMED YESTERDAY.

After a- lapse of several days, in which the mines were idle through shortage of explosives, work was resumed at tho Huntly and Rotowaro mines of the Taupiri Coinpnny and the Pukomiro mine of the rukemiro Company this morning. Supplies of explosives that arrived by the schooner Htiia from Melbourne oil Friday night were got through' tn the mines yesterday. It is estimated that with the present supplies both companies will be in a position to carry on for at least six weeks. In the meantime they are endeavouring to secure further supplier. The loss in output na n result of the stoppage has been estimated at approximately Soflfl tons.
