A presentation made to Miss Gaby consisted of many useful household articles. , Tho annual dance of the Customs and Marine Departments is to be held in St. Peter's Schoolroom early in September." ' A. successful meeting of Brooklyn rcsij dents interested in the Anglican Boys Homes was held at tho residence of Mrs. Middleton, AVashingtou Avenue, yesterday afternoon. The vicar of tho district and Mrs. Dent wero present. It was decided to conduct a stall on October 1, street sales day. The funds from this effort will go towards tho purchase of a new homo and furnishing the 6amo at Lower Hutt. Several business men in tha city are interesting themselves in this work, and the Indie? committee is formed for tho timo being to assist augment the funds. George, the winners being .High Cost of Living" (Miss Hanna), special priw (presented by Mr. A. A George); "Billiards" (Miss Olsen); "Ye Old English Gentleman" (Mr. L. Ibbotson).
