OVERSEA VESSELS IN PORT. Wellington is a very busy port at present. There are ten overseas vessels berthed at tho wharves, the steamers loading or discharging being the R.uahine, West Mahwali, Port Alma, l'aparoa, Raranga, Argyllshire, Arawa, Durham, and City of Winchcßtcr. In addition, the Kin, Ora arrived j-CBterday, and for want of a berth had to anchor in the stream. Tho Ulimaroa also arrived yesterday, and the Kumara is expected from Waitara today. The Port Alma is expected to clear port to-day. The Tarawera got away last night. ULIMAROA ARRIVES. Tho inter-colonjal steamer Ulimaroa arrived ill tho stream at about ten minutes to eight o'clock last night. She will berth this morning. ARRIVAL OF THE OPIHI. Tho steamer Opilii arrived from Newcastle at . Auckland on Friday withf a cargo of 1250 tons of coal. Sho loft Newcastle on July 15, and experienced btrong oaßterly winds and head seas throughout tho passage. After dischargo the Opihi will leave for Opua to load timber for Sydney. KXIAI'OI PROM GEELONG. Tho Union Company's freighter Kaiapoi, which was expected here on Saturday from Geclong, went to Picton instead. After discharging a portion of her cargo tho Kaiapoi will come to Wellington to complete discharge, and is duo here to-day. THE NAYUA. Tho Navua haß arrived at Auckland from tho Western Pacific Islands, bhe left Suva with a full load of BUgar on Friday week, and experienced heavy gales throughout the journey. As a result she was two days late in reaching Auckland. Tho Navua will discharge her cargo, and will then leavo for Napier, Wellington, and Dunedin to tako up tho Mokoia's coastal run. She is to sail from the northern port to-morrow, and is to leave hero on Saturday.

LUOKENBACH LINE OF STEAMERS. \tfews to hand by the laßt Australian mall states that steamers of tho Luckenbach Lino, ■ well-known cargo carriers, are expected shortly to resume running in the Australasian trade. During tho war these vessels were ••withdrawn from this service, and have been working in conjunction with tho United States Shipping Board. With the prospect of adequate wool cargoes, tho steamers will probably be again regular ■ visitors •to New Zoaland and Australian ports, via tho Panama Canal. RUAHINE AR.RIYES. The New Zealand Shipping Company's liner Ruahine' arrived at Wellington at 3 p.m. on Sunday from Southampton, via Auckland. Sho berthed at No. 1 Queen's Wharf. On completion of dischargo at Wellington sho will load meat at Gisborne, returning to Wellington to sail for London, via Panama, about August 19. THE PAEKOA. The steamer Paeroa, which has: been abandoned to tho underwriters, waß in-' surod for £750 in the Union of Canton Office, and thtf cargo of timber was also insured. Tho Paeroa went aground vhil# crossing the Hokitika bar a fow days ago. Sho is a'wooden steamer of 91 tons register, and was in charge of Captain Earle. She was built in Auckland in 1891, and for many years was owned by tho Northern Steamship Oomnany, which employed her in the Auckland trade. Her principal dimensions are: Length, 87ft,; breadth, 16ft, 21n., and depth, 6ft. lin. RARANGA FOR HOME. -Owing to the Are, on board the Raranga, tho vessel has been delayed until Friday afternoon. ARAWA SAILING THURSDAY., Tho S.S. and A. liner Arawa ia to leave for Southampton and London, via Panama, at daylight on Thursday. : KIA ORA FROM NEWCASTLE,. Tho Kia Ora. arrived from Newcastle at 8 a.m. yesterday, and for want of a berth was forced to remain in the stream. She will probably come alongside to-day.

MAMAE-I LOADB AT HULL. Tho S.S. and A. steamer Marnari has been fixed 'to load at Hull this month for Now Zealand ports. She is expected to Bail at tho end of July, and will brine a largo number of passengers for tho Dominion. ATHENIO, CORINTHIC, AND TAINUI. The Shaw-Savill liner Athenic ib to leave Southampton on July 29 for New Zealand ports, via Panama. Wellington will probably be her first port of call in the Dominion. The Corinthic, of the same line, is scheduled to leave Southampton on August 19 for Now Zealand ports, via. Panama, The Tainui will leave on September 9. TAIABOA TO LOAD AT NEW YORK. The new S.S. and A. steamer Taiaroa has bcon fixed to load at New York this month for New Zealand and Australian ports. Tho Taiaroa is a twin-screw vessel, with a dead-weight carrying capacity of 11,000 tons on a loaded draught of 28ft. 9in.. \ NGATOBO FOR SYDNEr. Tho Blackball collier Ngatoro will leave to-day, in company with the Ngahere, for Greymoutli. The Ngatoro will load timber th,ero for Sydnoy, sailing, it Is hoped, on Saturday. She will undergo her annual overhaul there, and then load at Newcastle for Lyttetlon or Wellington.

POilT ALMA. The 0. and D. liner Port Alma, at present discharging in Wellington, is to leave to-day for Lyttelton, fiunedin, and Australian ports. Sho will return to New Zealand to load refrigerated cargo in September. PAPAROA TO SAIL WEDNESDAY. The departure of the New Zealand l Shipping Oompany'B liner Paparoa for Southampton and London, via Panama, lias been postponed until 3 p.m. on Wednesday. ftUAPEHU AND BEMJERA. The New Zealand Shipping Company has been advised, that the lluapchu, en route from London to New Zealand ports, arrived.-at Newport Newß on July 23. The Itemuera, which sailed from Wellington on July 18, for Southampton and London, continued her voyage from Newport News on July 21. ARGYLLSHIRE FOR LONDON. Messrs. Bannatyne and Co. advise that the P. and S. liner Argyllshire will now leave Wellington for London, via Panama, at 2 o'clock on Wednesday afternoon. Passengers must ba aboard by that time, and all heavy luggage alongside by 11 a.m. the same day. MESS-TABLE GOS6IP. Mr. Fergus Mackonzie has passed his examination at Lyttelton for a mate's deep-sea certificate. Captain Dowell. of the Kegulus, who has been laid asido on account of illness, has rejoined ,his vessel. Mr. C. Dempster, mate of the Waltangi, has left that vessel, and Mr. R. Rodjter has taken his place. Mr. E. Sutherland, second mate of the Tarawera, has signed off the vessel's articles. Captain A. M. Stuart nas been auccecded by Captain W. J. Oaptain Biggins, in command of the Arlosto, which arrived nt Lyttelton yesterday, reported that he had, on July 10, spoken to tho American barquentinc Forrest Bren, thirty-six days out from Newcastle, and wishing him to report to Honolulu—Press Assn. Tho Hororata is at 'present loading in tho south, and is enpected here about the middle of August; Sho is due to sail Anally on August 17. Tho Kanna, coal laden, is due to-mor-row from Newcastle. The Kakapo iB at present loading coal at Newcastle, and should arrive next Week. The Paloona Is to leave iJunedin tomorrow for Lyttelton and Wellington, and will sail from here for Melbourne on Friday. The Japanese steamer Keiahan Mnru is to load KOO tons of coal at Newcastle shortly for Now Zealand. The Oenaan Mara Is to follow. The liner Oamißlotn Is due at Auckland from New York 011 August 5, and will later call nt Wellington. It is expected that the Wootton will be placed on the slip at Lyttelton to day for Blight repairs. It is honnl tn load her again on Thursday or Friday for Wellington. The Komata will go to West port, on Wednesday, carrying paßsongers, and will return to Wellington.

After dischargo at Wanganui tho Blenheim will make a trip to Nydin liny to load timber for Wellington, and is riuo hero on Thursday. Tho Karori is due from Greymouth and Lyttelton on Saturday with timber. The Kamo is due from Greymouth at tile end of the week. The Kittawa, on arrival here from Duncdin and Lyttelton, will proceed to Greymouth.
