LADIES' GOLF

NEW'ZEALAND CHAMPIONSHIP. Tho New Zealand ladies' golf championship meeting, held under the auspices of the N.Z. Ladies' Golf Union, will take place this year on tho Shirley links, under tin' management of the Christohurch Ladies' Golf Club. The dates feed for the meeting are from September 29 to October 6, inclusive. There are nine events on the programme, three of which are played from tho scratch mark, and the rest under handicap. The scratch events are the championship, played by match play throughout, tho Mellsop Cup, for the best scratch aggregate in three medal rounds, and the inter-island match, a match play contest between teams, selected, from the tiyo islands. , The handicap events comprise three medal matches for the Coronation Medal, the L.G.U. Challenge Bowl, and the Donnelly Cup, which, are all challenge trophies; and two bogey competitions for each of which thoTo are prizes, and in addition the player putting up the best aggregate in the two matches will hold, the Bogey Challenge Cup for a year.
