'w™ »£ Bin c i h proposed new iiealta Bill, and inviting comments and suggestions.—The Mayor moved that the matter bo left in the hands of the Mayor and Town Olerk to go into, with a view to preparing a report. Councillor Meldrum- seconded ■' tho motion, which was (carried. A communication was received from H. K. Olimie, stating that he was prepared to report on the council's electric lighting proposal, and agreeing to meet the Mayor and engineer to-day.—Heceived. K. Marshall submitted an amended offer of the Mason's Gardens property.— The Mayor Btated that the present offer was different from that which had been submitted to the last meeting of tho CounoU. Since then tho offer had been refused by tho Wellington City Council. Councillor West moved that tho letter be received. Councillor Hardy seconded tho Motion. After some discussion Councillor West withdrew his original motion in faTonr of an amendment by Councillor llacaskill, which was to the effect that, a reply be sent, stating that the council xould not entertain the offer. Tho amendment was carried.
