The ftew Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., Dannevirke, report the following sales for the past week:-At Noreewood, on Monday, July 19, we had a small entry of cattle, all of which were disposed of under tho hammer. Wc quote: Cows in calf, £15 15s. to £15. At Te Echunga, on Tuesday, in conjunction with the Ltd., we held a, clearing sale on account of Mr. G. H. Mackay. The cows were not in very good condition and consequently prices were lower than at recent aalea. We quote: Dairy cows, £18 10s., £17 to £9; 20-month steers, £4 65.; 20-month heifers, £5 165.; bow, due August, £14. At Te liehunga, on Thursday, wo held a successful clearing sale on account of Mr. Stanley Malmanche. ,The majority of the cows were young and met with a ready sale. Tho herd, exclusive of two empty cows and one 3tcater, realised the satisfactory average of £19 2s. 6d.. individual prices being £31 ' 10a'. £26. £20 10s., to £13: empty cows, £6 10b.; 20-month heifers, £10; weaner heifers. £7 55.: horses, £28. At Dannevirke, on Friday, we had a fair entry cf both Bheenj<and;.oattle. The .tone of the market''remained; Arm and all classes ot sheep were in good demand. Red's clearing sale at his homestead, Ashhurst, on Wednesday, July 21. There was an exceptionally largo attendance of buyers', "and the stock and implements wcro placed before the public in good order. The bidding right throughout the day was keen and prompt, and a most satisfactory sale resulted. Quotations:— Sheep: Small hoggets, 235.; mixed hoggets, 295. 4d. to' 30a.; cull wethers, 24b.; 4, 6, and 8-tooth wethers, 375. 6d.; low-conditioned owes, in lamb to S.D. ramß, 295.; mixed age ewos, in lamb to S.D. rams, £2 45.; 6 and 8-tooth S.D; rams, 3Jgns.
