• WORLD'S OIL -RESOURCES. are being mado to put the agreement between tho Anglo-Persian Oil Company and the Commonwealth Government into operation, the agreement having been approved by the Federal Parliament in- May last. Preparations .(says the Melbourne "Age") are being made by the Government and by the An-glo-Persian Company to form and register' in Victoria an oil refinery company, which will havo a capital ,of £500,000 in £1 shares, of which 250,001. shares will be taken-by the Commonwealth Government, 249,996'by'th0-Anglo-Perßian Oil Company,' and-three .-shares by nominees of that company. The refinery company probably .will be . incorporated and registered some; time in I'AugUßt. It undertakes to erect and equip a modern oil refinery in the Commonwealth and to control the salo'.nnd disposal of the products of- the refining of mineral oil. Boring and developmental operations in the Papuan oil fields aro proceeding, and if successful, the Commonwealth will eventually supply 200.000 tons, of oil per-annum to the new refinery company, for 'the purchase of > which it holds an ontion.
