* MR. HOLLAND ON THE LABOUR VIEW. Mr. 11. E. Holland, M.P., addressed a crowded awlionco in the Alexandra Hall last nijrht on the Irish question. Mr. P. Hickcv was in the chair. Mr. Holland spent some considerable time in reading extract) from British and New Zealand papers, mostly news or comments on tlio present state of (nines in Ireland. Mr. Holland added many comments of his own. He explained and justified the attitude of New Zealand Labour towards tho Irish question, and incidentally he told tho audience ihnt '.he resolution lie had submitted to flie House of Eeprcsentatlves had not been his own proposal, but the Labour Party's proposal, which had the endorsement of tho whole Labour movement in New Zealand. The Labour Party fav oured self-doterminntion for Ireland. E> said Ifhnt the Sinn Fein movement aimed at securinj economic freedom for Ireland, freedom from exploitation by British capitalists. He likened tho ense of Ireland to that of Kussia, fighting for freodom from capitalists exploitation.

Thcro were many persons in the audience, who left no doubt ns to their Sinn Fein sympathies. They applauded every reference lo complete independence for Ireland, and applauded specially Mr. Holland's reading of the cablo messngo announcing the capture of General Lucas by the Sinn Feiners.
