A ROYAL ROMANCE

AMAZING DISCLOSURES

A PRINCE'S DIVORCED WIFE MARRIED TO CHAUFFEUR

By Telegraph—Press Asaociatlon-OopyrlirM

(Eec. July 25, 5.5 p.m.)

Zurich, July 24. An amazing Eoyal romance has been disclosed in connection with Princess Alexandra (the daughter of Princo Frederick of Schleswig-llolstein), who Prince August, tho Kaiser's fourth son recently divorced. The Princess is now married to a chauffeur, declaring that it is better to be tho loved wife of a chauffeur than the unloved wifo of a Eoyal prince. Tho chauffeur, who is named Fritz Meyer, wore the exKairer's livery before tho war, and was driving the royal motor-car when the romance began. He served as a lieutenant during the war, and was the "officer of common tastes and democratic name" whom August cited in tho divorce proceedings. The couple are now honeymooning, while August is employed as a bank clerk in Berlin. It is difficulty to know how Meyer will support his wife, as she has extravagant tastes, and was once imprisoned for a fortnight in the Gothio Bound Tower, at Castle Eabelsborg, by tho ex-Kaiser as a punishment for over-spending. She is a Victoria statuesque blonde, has red hair, with a ruddy complexion, and is tho personification of a typical German heroine. Her only child of seven years lives with the ex-Cro>n Princess Cecilia.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
