TO MEET GENERAL BIRDWOOD. A gathering of considerable interest) has boen arranged for Monday evening in Dustin's rooms, Cuba Street, when the members of the Early Settlors' Association will meet General Sir William Birdwood. This meetin?. which is to be quite informal in nature, han been arranged.to give General Birdwood an opportunity to meet tho parents and grandparents of those who fought under him on Gallipoll, and on the fields of Franco. The short notice renders it difficult to send notices to all wso would liko to attend, and a hearty invitation ia oxtende'd to all the pioneers and settlers of the 'forties and 'fifties to meet General Birdwood.
The meeting nxranced for on Wednesday, July 28, in the samo place will be historical. "Wellington in 1843" will bo the 511biect on which -Mr. W. A. Edwards, tho istorical secretary, will speak. As this was a period of considerable interest in our early history, this should bo a very Interesting and instructive meeting. Memffers and friends are Invited to attend.
