CURFEW ENFORCED AT CORK
MANY ARRESTS MADE. (Rec. July '24, 0.15 a.m.)
London, July 23. Ringing the curfew lias been enforced at Cork, and troops in motor lorries, with searchlights, are patrolling the streets. Sixty arrests have been made. A motor-car containing Sinn Fein volunteers, escorting a prisoner accused of theft, was attacked by 'military ' motor cyclists at Oldcastlo, County. Meath. Shots were exchanged, and a. volunteer was killed and four soldiers were wounded—Aua.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
