The necessary two-thirds majority -was not 'tracked by one vote, due to the'strong stand of the British Government delegates in supporting the shipowners. However, the delegates are satisfied that the seam/n's hours will he revised. Discussing employment and insurance, the delegates said as an upshot of tlito conference there was a promise that facilities for finding crews would ba greatly increased. Seamen will cease to be penalised for obtaining employment ns hitherto— Atis.-N.Z. Cable Aesn.
