The Department of Agriculture has received itho following oablegram, dated July 17, from the Upgh Commissioner for New Zealand, London:— "Meat—No change in price for imported meat. Owing to English' suppliea decreasing, prices. have advanced, beef Is. 5d., mutton Is. s}d., lamb Is. 3d. '^Butter.—Average price English butter is JUG 195.; email supplies Irish coming forward, creamery -£IG, -217. "Cheese.—Demand for English is limited at iCB 125., '£9 2s. Demand for Canadian is moderate, but prices btive slightly declined,. 6pot £7 18s., .£5 25.; c.i.f. 125., £T 14s. "Hemp.—Manila market firm and ad--1 trancing. "I" grade July-August shipment .£64; August-October shipment sold .£65 14s. Manila recoipts Jnnuaiy 1 to July 12, .652,000, against 605,000 samo timo last year. New Zealand market very quiet, business being practically confined to parcels already 'shipped. Ilißnpomts sold .£54; fnir. £53; May-July shipment .K53 and <£51 respectively.
