BANKRUPTCY COURT

TWO DISCHARGES GRANTED,

His Honour Mi'. Justice Chapman presided over a short sitting of the Bankruptcy Court yesterday. John Laidlaw Walling petitioned for dischargo from bankruptcy. The petitioner filed liis schedule on Fobniay 22. 1918, his statement showing liabilities amounting to Ji5G3 17s. 7d. The Official Assignee informed the Court that at the first meeting of his creditors bankrupt promised to pay 20s. in the £, and he had sinco fulfilled this undertaking. No objection was therefore raised to the application. His Honour grnnted petitioner his discharge. A similar application was mndo by Thomas Charles Lloyd-Cox. According to the statement filed by the Official Assignee, the bankruptcy took place on Jiilv 11. 1914. Bankrupt's statement disclosed liabilities amounting to X2G3 IBs. and tho assets were set down at ,#l3O. The asstefh consisted of company shares, which had sinco proved value's.?*. The Official Assignee addfd that bankrupt seemed to have been the victim of unfortunate circumstances and had lost a considerable sum of money over the company. The estate hnd paid no dividend and bankrupt was not in a position to make any offer. In the circumstances no objection would be raised to tlie present application. His Honour accordingly made an order granting bankrupt his discharge.
