AMUNDSEN'S EXPEDITION
LEADER'S NARROW ESCAPE IN ■ FIGHT WITH HEAR. (Rec. July 19, 11.40 p.m.) Christiania, July 18. Tho newspaper "Aftenposten" states that Amundsen's expedition has passed two hard winters in a new land explored near Tsar Nicholas II Land. Captain Amundsen met withl an accident, falling from the ship to the ice and breaking an arm. He also had a narrow escape in a fight with a bear.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
