DEADLOCK OVER RAILWAY GAUGE QUESTION. Melbourne, July 17. ' The Premiers' Conference has reassembled. It discussed the uniform railway gauge question, but a deadlock resulted. The Commonwealth, New South Wales, and West' Australia advocated 4ft; BJin., while Queensland, South Australia, and Victoria recommended sft. 3in.— Press Assn.
