MANSLAUGHTER CHARGE

Christchurch, July IG, As tho result of a collieiou which occurred between a motor-car and a. tramcar on tho New Brighton road on May 22 and cost William Arthur Griffon his life, Bruce Forsyth, tho driver of tho motor-car, was to-day committed for trial by Mr. V. G. Day, S.M„ on a cliargo of lnanslauchtcr.
Tho evidence was tho 6amo as ■ tliot given at the inquest. It was alleged that tho accused was under the ipUnonto of liquor, and was driving at ft rapid rale without lights, though ono witness deposed that u few moments before tho accident tho car had a faint light in front and one nt tho back. Before the crash the tail light went out, on account, witness thouclit, of a bump on tho road.
