FORECAST AND SUMMARY AT 4 P.M. YESTERDAY. Present indications are for strong southerly winds and cold and squally conditions, with rain generally and snow on higher levels. Barometer rising everywhere. Atmospheric pressure has increased today in the south, and high and squally north-west to south-west winds have prevailed. The weather has been cloudy aud unsettled, and rain lias fallen in many parts, with snow on some of tho high country in tho South Island. D. 0. BATES.
