A NOBLE MONUMENT. Writing to tho Minister of Internal Affairs 'upon principles which should underlie tho erection of war memorials, Mr. S. Hurst-Seager, of Christchurch, takes strong exception to tho location of tho Nurso Ckvell memorial, and. blames tho authorities for placing it in a position surrounded by commercial buildings, and in such a way that it is quite overpowered by tho vulgar tower of the Coliseum-London's principal variety 6 ho\r—which from ono of the best points of viow foimß its background. "Of all monuments," writes Mr. Hurst-Seager, "this should lmvo been placed in a posn tion of rest and quiot: "Where tho lesson taught From tho image wrought Shall sink into tho heart."
