FEATHERSTON SCHOOLS
• IMPROVEMENTS- SUGGESTED. A deputation of Featherston. residents, introduced by Mr. A. D. M'Lcod (Wairarapa), met the Minister of Educa* tion (the Hon. C. J. Parr) yesterday to ask for improved school accommodation in tho town. The requests made by tho deputation included a grant of .£3lO for removing tho present school to a new site, arm providing additional land, and the creation of a. new infant school. Tho speakers stated that the existing school facilities were not adequate, and that the improvements were urgently required. ' ■ •• The Minister Teplied that he approved of the transfer of the 6chool to a newsite. He would recommend a grant for additional.land if it could be secured at a reasonable price. Ho advised the school committee to make a formal application to the Education Board for a new infant school, and promised to give the matter his careful 'attention.
