RUGBY CONTROL
MEETING OF NEW ZEALAND UNION. Tha Management Committee of the New Zealand Rugby Union met last ♦vening, Mr. G. S. Sladn presiding. The Marlborough Union wrote protesting against the action of tho selectors of tho South Island team in totally ignoring its nominations for this combination. The southern union considered that the position was due to the fact that its players were not known by the eolectors, and it suggested' that in futiiro some effort shonid be made to enable''tho' to spo tho Marlborough men in action before mailing Their selection. letter was referred, to the South Island selectora. • Intimation was received from Motueka that a new union, to be known- aa the Golden Bay-Motuftfea Rugby Football Union, had been formed in that districl. The following officers had boon elected :— President, H. Manoy (Motueka);' vicepresident, J. B'. Sndl (Takaka); secretary, S.. G. Smith (Motueka); treasurer, F. W. Falconer; committee, Messrs. W. PahV and E. Allen (Tukakn), B.' Jeffries (Motueka). The following suspensions were removed:—J. P. Guthrie (Petone); L. R. Lopdcll' (Southland), W. Harridgo fOtago). The application of J. S. Douglas (Otago) was not entertained. Cain having dropped out of tho New Zealand team, which is to tour Australia, the matter of arranging for an emergency to replneo him was left in the hands of the chairman. The meeting wont' into : committee to receive a verbal statement from Mr. T. K. Patterson, a member of tho Auckland Union, on the attitude of the parent body towards the northern union touching tho niattor of rite.
