POLICE AND CIVIL CASES. ' Mr. E. Page, S.M.. dealt with the police coses at the Magistrate's Court yesterday. 'Frederick Marriott was found in the street helplessly drunk with a wound in the back of his head. He was removed to the Tarauaki Street. Police .Station; in an express, and it was found necessary to call in a doctor to attend to his wound. Marriott was fined 10s. for drunkenness and was ordered to pay 21s, medical expenses. . M'Kenwe £3 15s. by monthly instalments of ss. Adrian Amadio was ordered to: return certain chattels to Dorothy E. M'Cormack immediately and to repay £9 10s., with costs totalling £2 6s. Mr. 0. E. Mazengarb appeared for the plaintiff. POSSESSION CASE. David Selbiry was ordered to give tip possession of a dwelling house to C. M. Stansell by July 30, and to pay rent and costs totalling '£35 9s. fid. • KEPAIRS TO A MOTOR. The Willerton Engineering Company (Mr. E. E. M'Gillon) claimed tho sum of' .842 3s, 3d. from W. E. Fordham, carrier (Mr. A. B. Sievwright), in respect of materials supplied and work dono in repairing a car. The defendant contended that tho repairs were not satisfactory and that the car broke down on iU. first .trial after the carrying out of the repairs. The plaintiff was nonsuited and costs were allowed tho defendant. A STOLEN OVERCOAT. J. W. Coulter, eommeroial traveller, for whom Mr..C. W. Tringhnm appeared, proceeded against J. Jierryni.in, licensee of the Post Office Hotel, represented by Mr. H. F. O'Loary, to recover tho sum of £15, the value of an overcoat, and a ' set of plans and drawing* stolen from plaintiff's room whilst a guest at the defendant's hotel. The defence was that tho 1053 sustained by the plaintiff was 'duo to his own want of .care, and tho defendant was thereby freed from liability. After hearing evidence judgment was given for plaintiff for .£l3, with costs amounting to £2 Gs.
