Professor J. Eonkine Brown has been appointed a member of the Now Zealand University Senate, representing the Professorial Board of Victoria College, vice Professor H. B. Kirk, resigned. A distinguished visitor is due in. Duncdin shortly in the person of the Hey. S. F. Collier, of Manchester. Mr. Collier is an ex-president of the British Wcsleyan Conference/ and' is well known in connection with the Methodist Central Mission in Manchester. He is accompanied by Mrs. Collier, and nlso theneon, the Rev.. Donald Collier, who was one of the chaplaius on Gallmoli until the evacuation. Dr. and Mrs. Garcia Webster have returned to Wellington from trip to Hawke's Bay. The following were admitted to membership of the Wellington Chamber of Commerce at yesterday's meeting of the council :-Messrs. Wilfred Sandlanfi (Cramp and Co.), Andrew Fletcher (Fletcher Construction Co.), E. Reynolds .(E. Reynolds and Co., Ltd.), F. S.' Goldinghani (Goldinghnin and Beckett), John Bevoridgo (Laery, Beveridge and Co.) C. B. Norwood iDoininion Motors, Ltd.), Dr. C. P. Knight (Wellington Gas Co.). Mr. C. B. Norwood, who has been on a trip to America and England, will return to Wellington next week. Mr. F. P. Talboys, tramway engineer for Wantranni, is at present on a business v:sit to Wellington. Mr. Talboys states that the Wanganui Council has decided to extend the service to the cemetery at Aramoho. and to St. John's Hill. ■
