The New South Wates Government Entomologist. Mr. . Froggatt, visited Maitland for the purpose of investigating the new lucerne pest at Louth Park, recently discovered on Mr. George Grant's pro-. . party. In the presence of. a number of farmers, Mr. Frojipitt closely investigated the pest, and traced the grub in the pipe of the lucerne plant as far as three feet /underground. It'was his opinion, however, that there was no connection between these grubs and tho countless white chrysalises found in the ground. Specimens of each were taken by the entomologist for further investigation. ■The new pest was acknowledged to be a most serious one in view of the damage aiready occasioned.'
