SALE OF WOOL
GERMAN AND POLISH FACTORIES BRITISH MANUFACTURERS ACQUIRE INTERESTS By Telegraph-Press Assoolatlon-Oopyright (Rec. July 1, 9 p.m.) London, June 30. The Australian Press Association learn 9 that trade circles are inclined to believe that a sound basis for the report Of the sale of four fflV.lion pounds' worth of wool to Germany is possibly to be found in the fact that British manufacturers have acquired an interest in German and Polish factories, in ihe belief that they can utilise the trade conditions existing in the&o countries and the rate of exchange in oftlef to bring manufactured goods back to England and sell at a greAter profit. Such a scheme was contemplatedin February, but did not reach fina.ity. It is known, however, that English manufaohirera recently visited Germany and Poland with a view to acquiring factories. At the Bradford wool sales practically the entire offering consisted of sorts suit- ?! I? t ol ' Continental! trade. Very little interest was shown, and there was no competition. Seventy-five per cent, of the offering whs withdrawn. Prices were unchanged.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. SALE NOT MADEFY GOVERNMENT.
