A NEW VALUATION
OF CITY AMD SUBURBS. (
, A new valuation of the city and suburbs of Wellington is to be made by the Valuation Department between' the present time, and the end of the current financial year. These valuations will not, of course, bo" made use of until 1921-22. When (.lie city was wholly revalued some fivo years ago, the work was cut up between the City Valuer (Mr. James Ames) and some of tnc_ department's officers. On this occasion Jlr.Ames is to. valuo the wliolo of the old city proper, that is Wellington, -with the exclusion of the old Melrose oorouelti Ngaio, Wadestora, Northland, and Karon, 'lhis work, the City i aluer estimates, will occupy his attention tor at least- six months, and .lie will make a start, as soon as certain data is supplied by the department. The suburban parte of the city will be valued by the department's oUlcere as heretofore,' the whole i work to be completed before the end of the financial yea?. -
