At a meeting of the Council of the New Zealand Hockey Association, it waa decided, in view of the lack of support and the briefness of the proposed tour of a New South Wales team, not to aitange for tho tour this season, but to keop the matter in view for next year. Challenges for the Nordon Cup were received from tho Waikato and Whangarei associations. The Wairarapa Association was granted affiliation. . • . Ii was decided to inform the TaTanaki Association that it was against the rule* for a club to play the same players in two different teams. ' Tha followins is the programme of shield matchesi—Auckland versus Nelson, at Auckland, July 17; winners v. Hawke's Bay; winners .v. Monawatu; winners v. Wanganui'; winnors v. Canterbury, and, if possible, .Wellington. With tho exception the first matoh, dfli-s ;>'i(l "'-ounds are to be arrapged. ■ For the Nordon Cup, the holders (Waikato) play Thames on July 10, and the winners play Poverty Bay. .
