WELLINGTON RUGBY UNION.

MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE MEETS. The Management Committee of the Wellington Rugby Union' mot last evening. Mr. W.F. Hornig presided. A lettor was received from the Town Clerk at Miramar complaining that players had broken into the Miramar Town Hall and done considerable damage.—The matter was referred to the Miramar Club for report. The I'otonu Club forwarded an application by J. Guthrie for reinstatement as a Rugby player. The applicant had played in sbveral league matches in 1915 nrior to going on active service. He had not played the League game since his return from tho front.—lt was decided to recommend iiis application to the N.Z.R.F.U. Mr. A. .T. Griffiths asked the committee to make arrangements for the Petonc and Poneke senior teams (which are leading in the championship competition) to meot on Saturday next. Poneke, he said, would be at their full strength on that date. If the match had to lie played later, Poneke would bo short of two men who had been selected as members of the New Zealand team. The meeting decided not to alter tho fixtures already "made for Saturday, but to postpone the meeting between Potone and Poneke till the return of tho New Zca- : land team from Australia. This arrangement, it was agreed, should . subsist so long as nothing happened to throw oho team or tho other definitely out of tho running for the championship. The following senior fixtures were mado for Saturday, July 10:—Selwyn v. Poneke, at Athletic Park; Petone v. Welline*™, at Petone: University v.Athlotlc at Athletic Park; Berhampore v. Oriental, at Kllblrnie. DAY OF PLENTY v. WELLINGTON. The Ray of Plenty -toam which Is to meet the Wellington representatives at Athletic Pari:''to-day, is comnoped almost exclusively of returned, soldiers, mostly drawn from the Pioneer Battalion, who drew with Wellington last year-3 nil. The omission of C Algar from the Wellington' team has occasioned comment; but it 10 understood that this Is entirely duo to a. misunderstanding, tho solectorß believing that-ho wr.s not r.vnilablo. >
