REDUCTION ANNOUNCED. By Telegraph—Presa Association. Auckland, June 29. The tea merchants in Auckland decided last week to reduce the price of tea by id. per lb. and the, new rate came into force on Friday last. The wholesale prico of the ordinary standard lines of packet tea which is used in Auckland wa6 Bs. 4d. par lb., and it is now reduced to 35., the retail prico falling from 3s. Bd. to 3s. 4d. Owing to stabilisation of the rupee a t two shillings, the cost of landing tea in New Zealand has been reduced considerably, with the result that the price of tho leading proprietary blonds throughout Now Zealand will bo reduced as from July 1 by threepence per pound.
