Clark, who represented Chalmers from 1308 till ir -r! n c it House of Representatives; Mr. K. bcott, who sat for many years in the House for Otago Central, and was defeated at last, elections for Walcatipu, his SBafc hflvinj? disjippcflrcd owinff to the alteration of boundaries; and Mr. P. J. NeTheny a retired builder and contractor, of Auckland, and a member of the City Council and othor local bodies. It la understood that two of these appointments were agreed upon in the ii? Government, tint both of them were made at the instance of Sir Joseph Ward's side of tho Government, and that the two he recommended were Colonel Smith and Mr. Nerheny.
