Mr. G. Frost (chairman) presided over I the: monthly meeting'of tne Board of Governors of the Wellington Technical Collego held Inst evening, A : letter was received from the Education Department notifying a bonus of «£ls to. married and ■ £1 10s. :.to unmarried teachers to meet the increaso in the, cost of living. The Director,; Mr. J. H. Howell, stated that if .the board desired to includo caretakers and others, apart from the teachers it would cost the board about £45... The Sounding Committee recommended that (his should be paid, as was previously done.. A letter was received from the Education Board in reference to accidents to pupils, and the • Director / (Mr. J. H. Howell) "was instructed to make inquiries into the'matter. : ■■• v The Wellington branch cf the N.Z.E.I. wrote inviting the co-opicrteon of the board- with respe'et- to the erection of. a memorial .cenotaph. The board was also invited to, send two delegates to a meet-' ing to be held on Monday to discuss the matter.-.... Mr. C, A.
