fr- r LIKELY CANDIDATES HINDENBURG ASKS WILHELM'S PERMISSION TO STAND (By Telegraph-Press Association-Copyright (Rec. June 28, 5.5 p.m.) " Berlin, June 28. Herr Ebert (President), in accordance with the Constitution, has asked the Reichstag to fix a. day for tho Presidential election. This has roused a discusl--on likely candidates. Tho Majority Socialists will probably urge Herr Ebert to stand for another term, but it is doubtful whether he will consent. It is understood that General Hindenburg has asked the ex-Kaiser's permission to becomo a candidate. The Conservatives will have a strong candidate. Ono suggested is Prince Bulow, but he probably will decline, as he in'tends to live in Switzerland—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
