ASSOCIATION FOOTBALL
A meeting of the Management Committee of tho Wellington Football Association was held on Wednesday, Mr. W. Auld presiding. Tho Wellington Rugby Union wrote' renewing the reciprocal agreement between tho two bodies regarding suspensions by committees of either body concerned,, ' Tho Referees' Association notified that tho.v were taking Bteps to ensure the attendance of referees at all games. The same body alao asked the W.P.A. to nominate two referees to control the Brown Shield match, Auckland v. Wellington. Mombers of tlm Institute fourth B team appeared before the committee to explain why thev had played a fourth A player In tho fourth B grade in their match against St. Anne's, the latter club having protested in tho matter. After hearing the evidence members considered that an unintentional breach of the rules had been committed, and that the match be replayed. Admission to use tho Basin Reserve for the Brown Shield match, Auckland v. Wellington, on July 10, was received from the City Council. Brooklyn United Club notified that thev were making a canvass of members with a viow to .selling shares In Association Park. A suggestion that a curtain-raiser to the Aucklwd-Wnllinston match be played between Institute and St. Thomas's, second division teams, was not agreed to. The Canterbury' Association suggested a fifth A.class representative game between the two provinces, and it was agreed to Slay It on the same date as the Canternry v. Wellington fixture. The New Zealand Council wrote Informing the association that the appeal of the Diamonds Club against the W.P.A. having awarded their gamo this season to V.M.C.A. had been upheld, and the association's action reversed. Further consideration was held over till noxt week; the New Zealand Council to bo asked in the meantime what cost would be incurred in the event of the matter being referred to the English Association.
