; MONTHLY MEETING. Th? monthly meeting of the Wellington Hospital and Charitable Aid Board yesterday was presided over by Mr. J. W. M'Ewan. Tho chairman, Mr. I'. Castle, was unavoidably absent owing to tho serious illness of his boh, and it was resolved to forward a letter of sympathy to him. Others present at tho meeting were: Rev. Dr. Elliott, Kev. H. Van Saveren, Messrs. G. J. Petficrick, C. M. Luke, A. J. M'Curdy, Fi T. Moore, W. J. Thompson, J. Smith, C. H. Chapman, J. Glover, J. Hutchison, and Mesddmes Snow and M'Vicar. Authority was granted for tho borrowing of a sum of money up to'Xlfl,ooo by way of overdraft. It was decided that tenders bo invited for the purchase of the leasehold of properly No, 35 Pipitea Street, tlio first term "being 21 years, with successive terms of 11 years, with fresh valuations of the ground rental at tho end of each period. The upset rental for the first term is .£72 per annum. . Tho Hospital Committee reported that there are 398 patients in the hospital at present, including 20 influenza, 13 venereal, 16 diphtheria, and 11 6carlct fever cases. Mr. J.
