At halftime the score was 26,t0 nil. .Davidson (Auckland three-quarter) did most of the scoring, others who crossed the line being Cloak, Woolley. Sumerß, and Walters, The visitors showed very poor combination, and were all at sea with the greasy ball. Their forwards showed to most advantage, but received little assistance from the back division. The southerners plaved better in the Becond spell than in the first, especially in loose dribbling rusheß, while their tackling was much more solid than In the onenine half. In spite of the rain; thorc . was a largo attendance of spectators.
